: I believe schools should use metal detectors
: when there is a definite need for them only.
: Video cameras should be on all school buses,
: in classrooms and hallways. This protects
: the adults as well as the kids. Too often
: someone (kid or adult) is accused of something
: that never happened or someone else did. Also
: drug deals and other situations could be caught
: on camera instead of the kids getting by with
: their activity.

The issue is complicated by non-students coming on to a campus for unauthorized purposes--I think there is a good arguement for a student to have to wear identification visibly on their person-perhaps this could be a primary use for the student body card that most schools issue anyway!
