As one possible response to youth/school violence, we are facilitating (with OJJDP support) a mid-July small policy conference in D.C. on the topic of parental involvement / parental responsibility issues as they relate to youth involved with the juvenile court (both delinquents and status offenders).
Please e-mail me if you are aware of: a) special court-connected parenting education/counseling programs for parents of troubled teen and pre-teen kids; b) court-connected parent-child mediation programs; c) court-connected programs that work to get non-custodial fathers more involved with their delinquent kids.
Also, please e-mail me if you know of any other innovative "models" for voluntary (or involuntary) parent involvement with juvenile courts.
Thank you.
